Producing good fruit

John 15:1-2  I am the true grapevine, and my father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn't produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.

I have been a christian for about sixteen years now and in ministry for fifteen years and i haven't found anyone including myself that enjoys this process. However, from a spiritual stand point, in order for there to be growth in our lives, there must first be a death.
God does this through a process of death, burial, and resurrection.

For growth to come in our spiritual lives we must allow God to prune or remove things that stifle our growth. But we must come to the place in our walk with Christ where we have such a desire and hunger for the next level, that we allow God to begin the process of pruning things from our lives. This is  why no one likes it because it is a painful process. Death can be painful, but it must happen! Then we must bury these things, putting our past in the past, and allow God to bring the spring time in our lives when everything is fresh, vibrant, and blooming.

You can never become who you are suppose to be and remain who you are, there has to be a death. either to your present self or your future self. I have learned that there is purpose in my pain! God wants the best for you, and we cannot get saved and satisfied, we must have a hunger for God that far out weighs the pain of dieing to self. That's what discipleship is about. letting go of who you are to become what God has destined for you to be.

James 1:2-4 Dear brothers and sisters, when trouble comes your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

What do say, will you allow God to put you on the potters wheel for his Glory?
I say yes! Lets get growing!

                                                           Be Blessed,
